Principles of setting up the hardware and software of LAns will be discussed. Students will get hands-on practice in setting up a small network in class. Topics will include design considerations, configuring the server, types of cabling and electronic media, as well as troubleshooting network problems. Although emphasis will be on theWindows environment, netWare and Unix platforms will be addressed. Prerequisite: CSC 130
