Introduces common physiological concepts of illness in clients across the life span. The focus is on adaptation and alteration in selected processes including fluid and electrolytes, acidbase balance, nutrition, immune system responses, and abnormal cell proliferation. Emphasis is placed on incorporation of this knowledge into the nursing process to meet healthrestoration needs of clients across the life span.
