This course provides an introduction to and application of professional guidelines and standards in assignment of codes to diagnoses and procedures using the International Classification of Diseases - 9 th Revision - Clinical Modification (ICD9CM).Coding rules will be applied to case studies. DRG's will be assigned using a grouper. Prerequisites: Certificate or Diploma Track: AHS 101 within 2years, AHS 109 Degree Track: BIO 194 *NoteMAS 151 may substitute for HIT 215.
