Emphasizes the rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling in order to ensure a smooth transition into communicating orally and in writing. Topics include basic grammar review, use of punctuation, use of capitalization, recognition of clauses and phrases, spelling, writing sentences, and writing simple paragraphs. Prerequisite: ENG 096, or entrance English score in accordance with approved TCSGadmissionscore levels. Lab may be substituted, as needed, for class hours on a 2to1 basis.
