This course studies the developing child with emphasis on the biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial growth from conception through eighteen years of age. It includes the major theories of development. Observations provide opportunity for integration of theory and practice for typically developing children as well as those with disabilities. It is the basic introductory course for all Early Childhood Education majors, and is required for teacher licensing in private centers, and teacher certification for publicly funded centers.
