Topics covered include: historical development of computers; hardware and software definitions and terminology; categories of system software and application software, including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and database management; machine language, assembler language, and high-level programming languages; the systems development process; careers in data processing; and legal, moral, and ethical issues associated with computers.
