This course continues with Eastern and Western multi-cultural aspects of papermaking techniques. Instruction is given to encourage development of a personal style reflecting either an Eastern or Western technique in hand papermaking and aesthetic perspective. An emphasis on hand papermaking as an art form focuses on Eastern philosophy and Western culture. Historical applications of hand papermaking and the book are studied. May be taken for a total of three times.
