Prerequisite(s): RED 090 or appropriate placement score Corequisite(s): None This course is a study of geographical, political, economic, and social conditions existing in North Carolina from America's discovery to the present. Topics include native and immigrant backgrounds; colonial, antebellum, and Reconstruction periods; party politics; race relations; and the transition from an agrarian to an industrial economy. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in North Carolina.
