Prerequisite(s): HIS 131 or HIS 132 Corequisite(s): None This course is a study of African-Americans from the Colonial period to the present. Topics include African origins, the slave trade, the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Jim Crow era, the civil rights movement, and contributions of African-Americans. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in the history of African-Americans. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a pre-major and/ or elective course requirement.
