The student will be introduced to various nursing interventions appropriate at the end of life. Included will be an overview of commonly experienced problems. Nine critical areas including palliative care, quality of life, pain symptom management, communication needs of caregivers, the dying process, ethics and bereavement will be explored. This course may be used to fulfill the elective requirement for nursing. Students must receive a ā€œCā€ or better in this course as a prerequisite for subsequent courses.
