This is the second of the nursing skills courses. Principles and concepts underlying the performance of select nursing skills, as well as the technical aspects necessary in performing those skills, will be discussed. Critical thinking and communication techniques, which are integral components of the application of these skills in nursing practice, are included. As a provider of care, the nurse implements nursing skills with consideration to the developmental level of the person and to the venue in which they practice. In each unit of instruction, the legal, ethical, and economic issues related to the skills will be presented. Students must receive a ā€œCā€ or better in this course as a prerequisite for subsequent courses
