This course provides those entering the teaching profession with an understanding of how to effectively enhance modern education with various types of technology. Students will explore the benefits and challenges of using technology. They will develop the skills to choose and implement technologies that will improve learner understanding and retention. Teaching and learning topics include basic hardware configurations and troubleshooting, operating systems, file types, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, word processing, audio-visual technologies, and online and distance-learning technologies. Students will be taught how to find reliable educational resources online and to understand intellectual property and copyright laws. Basic computing skills are required.
