This course will provide a practical, hands-on approach to the securing of both hosts and networks. It includes host and network hardening techniques, configuring of firewalls and intrusion detection systems. A variety of client and network operating systems will be used. This course assumes a prerequisite knowledge of network operating systems and introductory security concepts. A major network security project is a requirement of the course and will be presented in written and oral formats.
