Description:
This studio focuses on the design of commercial structures which require an intense concentration of Mechanical and Electrical support systems. Building types such as medical facilities and theaters with complicated heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems could be selected. Interior lighting, data communications and "smart" building systems will be included in all projects. Students will be expected to progress through schematic design and design development of two projects. Preliminary sizing and selection of all major systems, and subsystems is expected. Computer models will be used to define, analyze, and select major systems and subsystems.
