Prerequisite: CAM 103 The Color and Design course offers students a comprehensive introduction to the field of graphic design and stresses theory and creative development. This course enables students to produce successful visuals and introduces both the form and function of graphic design through an in-depth study of the elements, principles, and concepts of color and design used in both Web and print. The student will be introduced to the design process and art/design history, and discuss the principles of visual perception, dynamic balance, Gestalt principles, and practices of text and layout design, traditional and electronic color, and the process of preparing files for the Web or print and compares the similarities and differences between print and Web design.
