Prerequisites: CET 2178C and CET 2486C or department approval This course offers a solid introduction to computer investigations, preparing students to acquire and analyze digital evidence. It covers the tools and techniques of computer forensics and explains topics such as file structure, data recovery, e-mail and network investigations, and expert witness testimony. In addition to learning fundamental concepts, the student will gain practical knowledge in conducting digital investigations and preserving evidence that stands up in court or corporate inquiries.
