5 Credits Undeclared division Public Safety Program The aging population of the workforce in the United States has created numerous possibilities for workers to enter the wastewater field. In addition to the void created by the retirement of current workers, there is also the need for personnel who have knowledge of both specialized equipment and the rigorous federal and state regulatory wastewater requirements. These needs can only be met by trained wastewater operators. This lecture course provides NYSDEC approved training designed to supply the student with the knowledge base necessary for keeping a wastewater treatment plant operating efficiently. The student will study the characteristics of each individual process within the plant and will learn how those processes are joined to produce effective wastewater management systems. Course fee includes required textbooks. PREREQUISITE: PSP 501 Basic Wastewater Laboratory
