3 Credits Business,Professional Studies Recreation Leadership Students learn to develop a sensitivity to and an understanding of the recreational needs of persons with disabilities. Among the special populations examined are persons with mental retardation, persons with physical and sensory impairments, and aging adults. The course explores societal attitudes, terminology, and the philosophy of therapeutic recreation. Students also discuss the role of the therapeutic recreation specialist in hospitals, nursing homes, institutions, and public and private agencies
