12 Credits Nursing & Public Safety Paramedic Students are provided with the initial education necessary to administer advanced pre-hospital emergency skills as Paramedics. The course incorporates lecture, lab, and clinical material contained in Division 1 (Pre-hospital Environment), Division 2 (Preparatory), and Division 3 (Trauma) of the most recent curriculum approved by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Clinical rotations are required in Paramedic Field Rotation, Emergency Department, Anesthesia, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Examiner, and others. Students must maintain at least a C average to continue in the program. Lab fee. Prerequisites: EMT 101 and EMT 102 or the equivalent, and current EMT certification. Corequisites: BIO 113 and SCI 111.
