3 Credits Business,Professional Studies Networking Students learn how to set up and manage a network infrastructure with FreeBSD. FreeBSD is a powerful, flexible, and cost-effective UNIX-based operating system, and the preferred server platform for many enterprises. This class also includes coverage of installation, networking, add-on software, security, network services, system performance, kernel tweaking, file systems, SAMBA, Apache, upgrading, monitoring, crash debugging, BSD in the office, and emulating other Operating Systems. Students will learn how to configure a FreeBSD-based server as a firewall, a DHCP server, a DNS server, a file server, and a web server. Prerequisite: NET 102 or by advisement.
