3 Credits Business,Professional Studies Networking Instruction in this course introduces and extends students' knowledge and practical experience with switches and with Local Area Networks (LANs) and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) design, configuration, and maintenance. Students study classless routing, distance vector, link-state and hybrid routing protocols, LAN design, switch configuration, Spanning Tree Protocol (SPT), and Virtual Trunking Protocol (VTP). Students develop practical experience in skills related to configuring LANs, WANs, single area Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and protocols and network troubleshooting. Course fee. Prerequisite: NET 102 with a grade of C or better.
