1 Credit Nursing & Public Safety Nursing An overview of skills and concepts necessary to enter second-semester Nursing is presented in this course, which is designed for the student who seeks advanced placement. Topics include the philosophy and conceptual framework of the Nursing program, legal and ethical issues of nursing practice, and the nursing process as a framework for care. Students are required to meet specified criteria when demonstrating cognitive, psychomotor, and interpersonal skills. Students are required to be certified in Healthcare Provider CPR prior to entering NUR 130. Students who do not satisfactorily complete this course may not repeat it; they must take NUR 131. The class is scheduled prior to the beginning of the academic semester when needed. Students who are unsatisfactory in NUR 131 may not take this course to waive NUR 131.
