0 Credits Undeclared division Non Credit Courses The course will focus on what is currently known about Native American culture history and adaptations in the Hudson Valley region, from its earliest occupation by humans at least 12,000 years ago, to the period of initial European contact. Changing climate and environmental settings resulted in the development of diverse prehistoric lifestyles, which are reflected by the variety of archaeological site types that have been identified in the area. Some of these will be described during the course and their importance to developing an understanding of past lifeways and adaptations in the area will be addressed.
