3 Credits Business,Professional Studies Networking Students study network terminology and protocols, network standards, Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Ethernet, Transmission Control, Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Addressing Protocol, static routing, dynamic routing, LAN design, router configuration and troubleshooting, router boot sequence, distance vector routing protocols including Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP), access control lists (ACLs), and the network administrator's role and function. Instruction and training are provided in the proper care, maintenance, and use of networking software, tools, and equipment. Course fee. Prerequisite: NET 101 with a grade of C or better.
