3 Credits Math,Science,ENGR, & TECH Industrial Technology Only second-year students in the Industrial Technology: Drafting and Design program may take IND 294. IND 294 has a prerequisite: IND 292. In Field Experience, students are assigned to an employer. The work assignment is related to the student's classroom instruction. The student's activities include observation of processes and assisting in drafting and design projects. For both IND 292 and IND 294, a minimum of 120 hours of field work is required. After consulting with the student's employer, the faculty awards a grade based on an evaluation of the student's performance. Note: Students participating in field experience must meet the following minimum requirements in the semester preceding that in which the field experience is taken: 1. earn at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average; 2. pass all courses; 3. for IND 292: earn at least a grade of C in IND 125 and IND 130; for IND 294: earn at least a grade of C in IND 126 and IND 135; 4. have employment available for them; and 5. receive a recommendation by the faculty. Students not assigned to field experience for any reason must take a course by advisement (preferably a technical elective).
