6 Credits Undeclared division Development Cntr for Business This presentation identifies the causes and triggers of anger and various types of management strategies. "Coping Styles," including withdrawal, internalizing, impulsive reactions, and a tendency toward over-controlling will be explored using self-administered surveys. The communication skills portion will identify healthy and unhealthy verbal and non-verbal communication styles. Participants will learn what influences both anger and communication styles, and learn how to manage them. A "Listening Skills" worksheet will be reviewed to better understand how important listening can be. Verbal cues like volume, tone and meaning will be reviewed. Non-verbal communication cues like body language, appearance, odor, personal space, prejudices, social status and the nature of being disabled will also be discussed. This presentation is excellent for both adolescents and adults alike. Professionals working with children and parents will benefit from the information in this training. Approved by NYS OASAS for 6 CEUs.
