0 Credits Undeclared division College for Kids Would you like to play drums, read music or bring your playing ability up to another level? This camp will introduce you to the marching percussion style and proper playing technique associated with a drum line and percussion ensemble. The drum line is made up of a snare drum line, a multi tom line, a bass drum line and a cymbal line. The percussion ensemble is made up of xylophone, marimba, bells timpani, and auxiliary percussion. These are the rhythm or percussion section of a marching band or drum and bugle corps. The technique will be enforced by drum exercises that will enhance your playing ability and prepare you for a concert to be performed on Friday. You do not need to know how to play drums orpercussion instruments but it would help if you want to play a particular instrument. If you own an instrument you may bring it to camp. It is necessary to know how to read basic music. This camp is co-ed for ages 11-17. MATERIALS FEE: $10 payable to instructor on the first day of camp. LUNCH: Please bring a lunch that requires no refrigeration and plenty of beverages including water.
