This course provides a general introduction to the field of labor relations in the private and public sectors. Topics will include relevant aspects of labor history, labor law, and collective bargaining. The course will also cover the changing nature of labor/management relations in the U.S., the implications of global competition, and patterns of union resistance and preventive labor relations on the part of employers. Prerequisites: Prior completion or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 101 and at least one course in business or the social sciences. 3 Cr. (3 Lec.) Spring semester.
