3 credits "G" Prerequisite: (ENC 0020 or EAP 1695) or satisfactory score on the SPC placement test. This is a practical and applied course designed to meet the needs of the business and professional community. The course will apply the principles of speaking and listening in the context of business and professional forums with emphasis on preparation, presentation, and evaluation. The course will address critical thinking skills as applied to interviewing, employing multimedia materials, using group discussion and conflict mediation and resolution. This course partially satisfies the writing requirements as outlined in the General Education Requirements. 47 contact hours.
