3 credits Prerequisite: PGY 2401C and PGY 2110C. This is a course in which students will research and explore various lighting techniques used in photography to enhance the composition of the subject matter. Students will examine technical aspects involved in working with lighting equipment and the impact this visual application is having on the growth, culture, and communication in the world today. The emphasis will be a "hands on" approach working with other students, models and potential clients in single and group portraiture situations. Students will become better acquainted with lighting used in product, advertising, and specialty photography which has expanded the visual syntax in all visual forms of expression and communication throughout humanity. 92 contact hours.
