This course is designed to prepare the legal assistant to assist the civil trial attorney in civil litigation, mediation and arbitration in the Florida state and federal actions. This course covers the Florida and Federal Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedure and related matters including the drafting of settlement proposals, preparation of a trial brief, abstracting of depositions, trial procedure, and appellate jurisdiction. The course also addresses jurisdiction of general masters and administrative law systems. 47 contact hours.
