3 credits Prerequisite: Admission to the Paralegal Studies BAS program or permission of the Dean, PLA 2114. The course will introduce students to various forms of reasoning and informal fallacies. Subsequently, the course will conduct an in-depth study of deductive syllogistic logic and will conclude by introducing the quantification techniques of propositional and predicate logic (first-order symbolic logic). The course includes logic games and application of logical analytical principles to legal writing. 47 contact hours.
