4 credits Prerequisite: Faculty approval. This course provides the student with additional opportunities to practice previously acquired clinical skills and learn a limited number of new skills in selected hospital settings with supervision by both faculty and clinical practitioners. Focus is on the application of nursing therapies, the nursing process and nursing care of hospitalized adults with common, recurring, uncomplicated health alterations. Directed study is provided by faculty to meet course objectives. Enrollment limited. Total of 120 clinical laboratory hours to be arranged. The course may be repeated for credit for up to eight credits. 120 contact hours.
