2 credits Prerequisite: MUT 1001 or equivalent and departmental permission. Students practice compositional skills with assignments and projects to demonstrate an understanding of the basic materials, devices, and processes for composing music in the small forms. The course is a survey of styles of the major creative movements, with emphasis on twentieth century techniques. This course may be taken two (2) times for credit. One hour private lesson plus one hour seminar class each week.
