1 credits Corequisite: MLT 1022. This course introduces the student to the basic equipment and techniques used in clinical laboratory procedures. Students will learn proper use of personal protective equipment, laboratory glassware, centrifuges, balances, spectrophotometers, and microscopes. They will learn to evaluate and process laboratory specimens, pipet, and prepare dilutions and laboratory reagents. Mathematical calculations and interpretation of quality control data will be practiced. 30 contact hours or equivalent.
