3 credits "G" Prerequisite: (Appropriate score on the CPT) or (acceptance into the Honors College) or approval of the program director. This course is a study of various major non-Western cultures including the Near East, Far East, and Africa, as related to the Western tradition. Emphasis is placed on applying knowledge of non-Western values and ideas relative to Western culture toward constructing a coherent world-view and reaching a deep understanding of self. This course partially satisfies the writing requirements outlined in the General Education Requirements. Credit is not given for both HUM 2270 and HUM 2270H. 47 contact hours.
