This course examines the nature and role of banks and affiliated non-deposit financial intermediaries in a modern economy. The course will also cover the characteristics of a banking institution, banking structure and organization. The principles of bank accounting and financial performance systems, profitability, growth, competitive strategies and risk management will be major topics in the course. 47 contact hours.
