3 credits Prerequisite: CTS 1101 or permission of instructor. This course introduces the student to the foundational concepts of digital video. Topics to be covered include video basics, DV technology, system configuration, the development process, editing, production, effects and presentation. A variety of digital video development tools will be explored. The course also delves into alternative applications of the technology behind the medium, and looks at the past and the future in the hopes of gleaning more insights into what is fast-becoming a major growth area of the worldwide entertainment industry. 47 contact hours.
