3 credits "G" Prerequisites: Meets Honors College entrance criteria or approval of program director. In this course macroeconomic principles are used to analyze the operation of the market economy. The course will examine the effects of fiscal and monetary policies on aggregate demand and aggregate supply and consequently on the levels of output, employment, and prices. Emphasis will be placed on discussion of contemporary macroeconomic problems and issues. This course partially satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirements outlined in the General Education Requirements. Credit is not given for both ECO 2013 and Honors Macroeconomics. 47 contact hours.
