This course presents the biochemical aspects of nutrition and an overview of organic chemistry as applied to the practice of dentistry. Included are basic principles of nutrition, knowledge of the principal nutrients in foods and their utilization by the body. Emphasis will be placed on the practical aspects of nutritional counseling and the control of oral disease. 32 contact hours.
