3 credits Prerequisite: COP 2250. This course will teach students to write advanced Java programs. Topics include Swing Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, advanced layout managers, Swing applets, threads, regular expressions, collections, Java networking, Remote Method Invocation (RMI), JavaBeans, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), Internationalization (I18N) and Localization (L10N), and Java security . Students will write complete applications and small Java applets. 47 contact hours.
