3 credits Prerequisite: Program Director approval. This course explores the interpersonal skills needed by officers to understand the incarcerated society are explored, with emphasis upon supervision methods. Inmate adjustment and the various segments of the society are studied. The course includes studies of homosexuality, female inmates, deception and manipulation by inmates, and institutional criminalities. Objectives addressed include those as specified by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. 50 contact hours.
