			3 credits Prerequisite: CET 1600 or relevant industry experience. This is the second of four courses designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology. Instruction includes networking, network terminology and protocols, network standards, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, Ethernet, Token Ring, Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Addressing Protocol, dynamic routing, routing, and the network administrator's function. Students will successfully implement beginning router configurations, demonstrate an understanding of routed and routing protocols and the fundamentals of LAN switching. 47 contact hours.
