4 credits Prerequisite: Program Director Approval. This course is an introduction to policing. The student will be introduced to Florida's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) and the policies and rules which govern police officer standards within the State of Florida. The student will also be introduced to the Criminal Justice System in Florida, constitutional law, ethics, interpersonal skills, human interaction, and hazardous materials. Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC)'s Curriculum Maintenance System (CMS) curriculum. 76 contact hours.
