3 credits This course is the first of four courses designed to provide students with classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology. Instruction includes, but is not limited to networking, network terminology and protocols, network standards, LANs, WANs, the OSI reference model, cabling, routers, router programming, LAN/WAN topologies, IP addressing and network standards. Students will install and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN and switched LAN and LAN networks. 47 contact hours.
