3 credits Prerequisites: Completion of CET 2620 or CCNA certification with permission of dean. This course examines an overall approach to network security. Topics include, but are not limited to, integration of hardware firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Internet Protocol-security (IPSec), and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) in network security design. Students will implement designs using equipment in a laboratory setting. 47 contact hours.
