3 credits This course is designed to provide the student with an introduction to educational concepts and theory relative to effective communication in many veterinary settings. Topics included are development and design of training materials, designing goals and objectives for training materials, client instruction, principles of learning, learning styles and motivation, case-based learning, and using media and software. Emphasis will be on presenting the basic concepts of planning, development and evaluation of presentations and materials. 47 contact hours or equivalent.
