3 credits Prerequisites: ASL 1150C, ASL 1430, ASL 1510. This is a course for the intermediate or advanced signer with limited exposure to American Sign Language (ASL). American Sign Language, as used by deaf adults, is studied with an emphasis on the phonological, morphological, semantic, syntactical, idiomatic and metaphorical aspects of ASL. Current research in the field is examined and discussed. 47 contact hours.
