P This is the first course of a two-term survey of general physics intended for engineering, science, and preprofessional students. Main topics include an introduction to the basic concepts of physics such as motion, energy, momentum, inertia, oscillation, gravitation, fluids, waves, sound, temperature, and heat. The laboratory experience is an integral part of the course and consists of selected experiments that correlate with the topics of the course. Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of at least two (2) semesters of the calculus sequence (MAC2311 and MAC2312), or the equivalent. Corequisite: PHY2048L
