O This course teaches general pharmacological concepts and principles, therapeutic drugs and indications, contraindications associated with drug therapy and medications related to body systems, common signs, symptoms, and side effects. The course reviews the FDA, drug schedules, common medications, adverse effects, and relevant laws. There is a focus on the relationship between pharmacology and coding. Prerequisite: HIM2472 or HSC2531. Recommended: Concurrent enrollment in HIM1433. This course must be passed with a grade of C or better. NOTE: Projects within the course may require use of Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet
